Soaps, Shower Gel and Shampoo

Our Handmade natural soaps are jam packed with good things for your skin. The Liquid soaps are made from scratch, using natural plant oils, which all have their unique skin care properties. They all contain Honey, which helps keep skin naturally moisturised and healthy, helping to prevent skin problems. Honey feeds the skin, encouraging cell growth, which helps with healing cuts and grazes, and keeps skin continually renewed. In shampoo, Honey helps keep hair shiny and the scalp moisturised andd nourished, helping to eliminate dandruff. The natural soaps come in a range that is lightly fragranced, also colour and fragrance free or allergen free fragrance which should be suitable for, and help with eczema, psoriasis, dry and sensitive skin.

Our Soap Bars come in a variety of sizes, from Family to Guest and the designs follow a Bee theme to emphasize the natural goodness they contain. All sizes are available naturally coloured and fragrance free, but also come coloured and lightly fragranced with Chamomile & Honey or Lavender. The colour and fragrance free bars are SLS/SLES free and should suitable for people with sensitive skin. Our solid soap is made using a glycerine soap base, retaining its natural glycerine, we then add Honey and Beeswax, from our own colonies kept in Hampshire, which helps your skin feel soft and cared for. Honey is a natural moisturizer and nourisher and helps skin to rejuvenate and refresh depleted cells. Beeswax seals in the moisture and helps to keep skin waterproof and protected from environmental damage. We have been making and using these soaps for 10 years. Family and friends, even the male variety, have found the soap very helpful for skin problems such as eczema, psoriasis, dry skin and winter rashes.

It is thought that that soap was discovered, in days of old, by woman who washed clothes in the river. They found that if they washed items in the foamy area where the fire ash and remains of the animal sacrifices were pushed, clothes became cleaner. Mans inquisitiveness made him experiment with filtering water through wood ash, this makes Lye, and than adding animal fats. Soap is made in a similar way today with a modern form of Lye and vegetable and fruit oils. It has two parts, a cleaning agent and a natural moisturiser, Glycerine. In the main, mass produced soap has the Glycerine removed during the soap making process, which is why some people can have a bad reaction when washing.

Handcream

Our natural Handcreammade with Beeswax and Honey, is a wonderful way to protect your hands, and help your skin. It contains coconut oil, Shea Butter, Mango Butter and coco butter, all of which help to moisturize, protect  and rejuvenate your skin. The cream made with honey and beeswax helps to heal sore, dry, chapped hands in winter and look after them in the summer sun. Beeswax is a very good natural way to care for your skin. It is used in many modern skincare products. The cream leaves a fine film of Beeswax on your skin which then strengthens, and helps protect it.

Beeswax is the main makeup of the Honey Bees Home. The hexagonal cells are used for raising young Bees and the storing of Honey and pollen and for their winter supplies. Bees produce wax from wax glands on their abdomen. A row of Bees hang from a fixed point with bees hanging under them all linking legs. A second layer of Bees hang on their back. The first layer then secrete wax scales so that the second layer can take this and soften it with their mouths. This can then be moulded into shape. This process is called chaining, and it takes approximately 8lbs of Honey to make 1lb of Wax. The natural properties of Beeswax include a nourishing moisturizer which has the added advantage of locking the moisture in with a protective layer, this also helps to protect the skin from environmental damage. It also Fosters cells, aiding skin repair, softens and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. In the past Beeswax has been found in early mans cave paintings, and was thought precious enough to be used as a currency and pay Roman taxes.

The Hand Cream is available in 100ml - 74g* clear PET jars. PET  (Polyethylene terephtalate) is a recyclable plastic.

Candles

Our Natural Beeswax Candles are solid Beeswax which we get from our Bees sited in Basingstoke, Hampshire. They burn cleaner than paraffin candles and give a light honey fragrance. Beeswax candles help to clean the air by releasing Negative Ions which neutralise the Positive Ions of pollutants, this can help relive Air Allergies like Asthma. A 2 hour burn is suggested. The Candles are hand poured and all have a Bee theme.

Beeswax is the mainstay of the Bee Hive. It is made by the Bees hanging in layers, legs linked together. The front Bees, sweat wax from their wax glands, and the Bees behind them chew the Wax to make it ply able, it is then moulded into shape.

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Always place candles on a heat proof surface to burn. Wicks might need triming to achieve an even flame.
